Geert Vandenbon (b. 1957) got to know Stageco in the nineties, through events such as Torhout-Werchter, the Tour of Flanders and De Gordel. He first met Hedwig in the summer of 1998 during the rainy edition of the Torhout/Werchter Festival. Geert founded his small, yet charming communication and events agency Pinguin Productions on January 1 1989. Cycling races and music are two common threads throughout his life. And for over 20 years, he worked on the Tour of Flanders. Together with Stageco, he introduced the iconic finish arch in Ninove. The Tour of Flanders also inspired him to edit a number of books on cycling and football, and later on also poetry as well as a travel book.

Furthermore, the books inspired him to start writing: commissioned writing, commercial copy, contributions to books, slogans and baselines, greeting cards and songs. And, yes, music is also his passion. Geert worked for record labels, built sponsor stands at festivals, such as TW, Pukkelpop and Gentse Feestsen; he plays the guitar and is a songwriter. Graphics are also part of his work: print, book layout, CD artwork and corporate identity. In 2012, Pinguin restyled the Stageco logo and corporate identity. In 2010, he put the first words of ‘30 YEARS OF STAGECO. From Werchter to the World’ down on paper. The book is now finished.
